چکیده

We outline a general framework to use coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission technology in downlink multicell non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems considering distributed power allocation at each cell. In this framework, CoMP transmission is used for users experiencing strong receivesignals from multiple cells while each cell adopts NOMA for resource allocation to its active users. After a brief review of the working principles of different CoMP schemes, we identify their applicability and necessary conditions for their use in downlink multi-cell NOMA system. After that, we discuss different network scenarios with different spatial distributions of users and study the applicability of CoMP schemes in these network scenarios. To the end, a numerical performance evaluation is carried out for the proposed CoMP-NOMA systems and the results are compared with those for conventional orthogonal multiple access (OMA)-based CoMP systems. The numerical results quantify the spectral efficiency gain of the proposed CoMP-NOMA models over CoMP-OMA. Finally, we conclude this article by identifying the potential major challenges in implementing CoMP-NOMA in future cellular systems.

Improved Performance Scheme for Joint Transmission in Downlink Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission

In this paper, improved performance scheme for joint transmission(JT) is proposed in downlink(DL) coordinated multi-point(CoMP) in case of the constraint transmission power. This scheme is that a serving transmission point(TP) requests the JT to an inter-TP and it selects a precoding technique according to the channel state information(CSI) from user equipment(UE). The simulation results show t...

Joint Coordinated Multicell Processing and MIMO: selection of Base Stations and Gain

In this paper, we provide the analysis of the downlink Coordinated Multiple Point (CoMP) used in conjunction with the basic MIMO. The CoMP is the joint multi-cell transmission from several BS to mobiles, coupled here to an open-loop MIMO technique that does not require the perfect channel state knowledge. We show by simulation, that even for 4 × 4 MIMO transmission, the CoMP can improve the spe...

Channel Estimation and Precoding in– Closed-Loop Distributed Multi-Antenna Systems

Today’s wireless cellular systems are limited by inter-cell interference. Coordinated multi-point transmission and reception (CoMP) is a promising approach to cope with this problem. Here, multiple base stations act as a distributed antenna system, exchanging coordination information and potentially user data via backhaul in order to reduce this interference, increasing spectral efficiency and ...

On Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission for Cellular Environments

Current and emergent services are demanding higher data rates, improved spectral efficiency and increased network capacity. To face these new requirements, it is important to find schemes able to reduce the effects of fading and to exploit new types of diversity. Coordinated Multi-Point transmission (CoMP) comprises the coordinated transmission of signals from adjacent base stations (BS), and t...
